Time for a #SnippetSaturday!

by | Nov 30, 2019

It’s high time Destroyed had its very first #SnippetSaturday! I hope you enjoy this little sample from the final installment of the Omega’s Destruction series. I am incredibly excited for all of you to see the end of Quinn and Tobias’ journey and where they end up, along with all the twists and turns along the way!

She was incomplete now. Not just bound to the man, subject to his will, but he in return. Tobias Kahler had gotten what he wanted the moment he forced her to claim him. He’d invaded not just her body, but her mind and soul far beyond the constraints of social acceptance. No one else would have dared to create the vicious circle between them, throwing away generations of beliefs and plunging headfirst into the taboo. Her will pitted against his was a small and frightened thing.

She never stood a chance against something so devious, so underhanded.

Quinn was the perfect slave now. Or she would be, once she’d been battered into complete submission. Something that she’d once sworn would never happen to her was an all too real probability now. Each day it was harder to fight her way free of the heady warmth, more difficult to deny the comfort and serenity that basking in his presence gave her.

“Shh, little bird. It’s all right,” he murmured against her shoulder, lips moving against the thick scars of his mark. Three bites, all mangling her skin into an atrocity that said she was his and would never escape it. The wet heat of his tongue moved over the wrinkled flesh, tasting the salt of her sweat, swallowing her down.

Whining into the sheets, she tried to jostle away as the sensation of working muscle, heady pleasure, and satisfaction assaulted her senses. They weren’t hers, but the lines separating Quinn from him were blurred, softening with every ragged breath. With his knot locked tight behind her pelvic bone, she wasn’t going anywhere. Not until he released her.

He had no intentions of doing that anytime soon.

The preternatural calm was a lie, Devin realized. His body was poised, ready for the killing strike. It was his eyes though that showed his turmoil beyond the fixed stare. Clamping her lips into a hard line, she gave a minute shake of her head. Refusing to bare more of her soul to him.

“Despite sitting at that stupid desk, watching him destroy me a little more each day, you made it better,” she breathed, eyes widening as she willed her treacherous tongue to stop moving. “Just seeing you, even smelling you… There was hope, somewhere in all of it, and…”

“Enough.” His was a voice dragged over hot coals, wrenched from a place neither of them knew existed. A dark abyss that became more twisted, more voracious as Devin shone a glimpse of light upon it.

“You always made me feel safe.”

“And you hated my touch. Always yelling your accusations of stealing things from you, taking everything away,” he snarled against her lips. “You tried to kill both of us, to destroy all of this, and you expect me to believe I made you feel safe?”

“It scared me, Daniel.”

“And now you’re not, is that it?”

“Not of you.”

As if it had never faltered, the shimmering heat returned. It bloomed through her chest, tangling through her limbs as she struggled to work them free to return his crushing grasp. Whining low in her throat when he kept her imprisoned, she did the only thing she could. Arching her neck, she brought their lips flush. Her tongue teased at the tender flesh, begging for entry. Devin whimpered when he tore his mouth away.

“No.”
